WeTheHobby
I landed with WeTheHobby as their full-time freelance designer in August 2024. In the three months I spent with the company, I was able to help accomplish a great deal of social and retail goals. Social was where I spent most of my time, ideating and creating concepts that were applicable to sports cards and trending sports topics. In the retail space, I was able to provide print graphics for menus, party packages, advertising and much more.
Make it stand out
Favorites.
I hand selected my two favorite social pieces to kick off the highlighting of my best work with WTH. In both designs I was able to achieve a semi-complex deliverable in regards to the amount of information that needed to be digested.
Award Based.
In both results here, I was able to create some really dazzling dynamics of the use of space and scale. Most of our pieces were carousel style, so each of these were also utilized 5+ times with different players and their respective odds or breaker picks.
Fantasy Focused.
Fantasy Football really is a close derivative to sports cards and the fun risks you take. We played with many fantasy football concepts during my time with WTH. The team really enjoyed these two results.
Engagement.
Posing questions to your audience can be a nifty tactic in increasing a social pages’ engagement and shares. These were both aimed with that tactic in mind. Proud of the results we achieved here visually.
List-Oriented.
Lists or ‘Make Your Picks’ type of content is another great social tactic for shares and the increase of engagement levels. By utilizing trends and common forms of social sports prompts, we were able to achieve some solid results with these statics.
Carousel/Series.
With the help of a great social team, we were able to come up with some great reoccurring themes for social. Elites/Frauds fit that mold. OROY Odds was simply a carousel design with 4+ players featured. We found that a good mix of these two components was good practice on social.
Comparisons.
As time went on, we wanted to push the envelope and have some fun with it. Comparing NFL QB’s to dogs or video games really opened up the bottle for us to share some quirky comps. Instagram users seem to really enjoy the fun nature of these types of posts. The fun was in the ideation here.
Player-Focused.
Showcasing a single player can be a real attention grabber. We were able to capitalize on some trending stats/quotes in these two designs above.
Breaker Picks.
Using WTH’s “Breakers” or individuals who open packs of cards on our streams. Weekly picks and standings became something of a mainstay on our social platforms.
